Woman’s History Month

The month of March is Woman’s History Month. A month dedicated to commemorating, encouraging and celebrating the visionary and trailblazing women who have paved a path for future generations. In honor of these amazing women, we have put together 10 ideas and activities you can do yourself or with coworkers to celebrate all month long:

 

1. Support women-owned businesses. Women-owned businesses are on the rise, but women still represent the minority of business owners. March is a perfect time to show support for the women entrepreneurs in your community by eating or shopping at these businesses. 

 

2. Post on social media. Spread awareness of Women’s History Month by sharing articles, infographics, inspiring quotes, videos, and other women-centric content on your social media.

 

3. Play Women’s History games & quizzes. Playing a themed activity of games with family or coworkers can be a great way to celebrate women’s history in a fun and engaging environment. There are many websites with ideas for themes and games to play. Just google Woman’s History Themed Games. 

 

4. Donate | Contribute to a woman’s charity. There are many amazing non-profit and woman’s charity organizations. Find one that speaks to you or your company and make a donation. If a donation if not possible, volunteer instead! Search for local opportunities that support women in your community and use your time to support the cause.

 

5. Mentor other women. If you have the resources and skills to do so, share your expertise with other women who are looking to get into business or learn a trade. You can make a tremendous impact just by simply making your knowledge more accessible by hosting a virtual talk, podcast or blog.

 

 

 

6. Read a book by a woman author. Show support to the creative women of the world by picking up a book written by a female author. When you finish reading one book, lend it to someone and spread the stories of these incredibly creative women. 

 

7. Create a playlist of upcoming women artists. Create a Spotify playlist featuring famous as well as up-and-coming women artists in the music industry and share with family and co-workers. This is an excellent way to show support for female artists. 

 

8. Listen to a Woman’s History themed podcast. Consider adding a Women’s History-themed podcast to your listening rotation. Get inspired by stories and insights from successful women entrepreneurs, executives and other woman paving new the way for the next generation.

 

9. Write a thank you note to a woman that inspires you. A few simple words to can mean a lot. Think of a role model, or a friend who helped you through a tough time or someone you just admire and write a short note to let them know you appreciate them. 

 

10. For the women reading these ideas – Write yourself a note! Women often don’t take the time to appreciate themselves and all the things they do. Its time to spare a few words of praise for yourself.
