Stuart serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the national law firm specialty vertical at Alliant, formerly ProQuest. With more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Stuart specializes in placing professional liability, employment practices liability, management liability and data security/cyber liability insurance for mid-to-large size law firms.
Born in South Africa and raised in London, England, Stuart holds dual citizenship with the UK and the U.S., and lives in Greenwich, CT.
Stuart joined Alliant in 2009, opening the first law firm specialty office in New York City and helping to establish Alliant’s footprint in the Northeast. Prior to Alliant, Stuart worked at a leading global broker in both London and New York, focusing exclusively on the insurance needs of law firms. Prior to that he was an underwriting manager with CNA Re UK Ltd., the UK-based reinsurance operation of CNA Financial Corporation, responsible for the professional liability underwriting account, comprising directors and officers, errors and omissions, and lawyers’ professional liability insurance and reinsurance business.
Stuart holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics and economics from Liverpool John Moores University in Liverpool, England, as well as the Cyber Professional Liability Practitioner (CPLP) designation.
