The Public Risk Management Association’s PRIMA 2025 Annual Conference was held in Seattle on June 1-4, 2025. The conference delivered a powerful message: modern public risk management demands more than compliance—it requires caring for people, leveraging smart tech, forging inclusive workplaces and preparing for crises with clarity and connection.
The conference highlighted core themes, including stress management and well-being, resilient leadership, and continued emphasis on cyber-related threats and security measures.
The conference offered over 50 educational sessions, including those on telematics in risk management, cyber incident response planning, and emergency and continuity planning and education presented by leaders in the industry. It also offered opportunities for public risk managers to network with one another and over 75 insurance and risk management focused exhibitors in the Business Exchange.
Highlights from the conference included the awards luncheon, where chapters and individual risk management programs were recognized for innovative risk management solutions and leadership, as well as several keynote sessions. An interactive version of “Friendly Feud” was led by Rick Pray and Scott McNea from Alliant, where participants explored the latest issues in public risk management, drawn from a survey of over 1,500 public risk managers.
PRIMA will host the 2026 Annual Conference, June 7-10, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A call for presentations has been issued, with a deadline of July 18, 2025. Proposal submissions can be forwarded for consideration using this link: PRIMA 2026 Submission Form.
